OVERVIEW
Orrin Arc is a conceptual techwear label merging utility, fashion, and digital culture. The brand approached us to design a bold, experimental e-commerce experience that reflects its avant-garde aesthetic and speaks to a digitally-native, style-forward audience. The goal was to build an immersive, high-energy storefront that blurred the line between fashion, art, and technology — challenging conventions while staying user-friendly.
Problem
Orrin Arc needed more than just a store — it needed a digital experience that echoed the radical energy of its apparel. The existing website felt too conventional for a brand pushing the boundaries of fashion and tech. It lacked narrative, visual impact, and the modular flexibility needed to showcase limited drops, collaborations, and lookbooks. The core challenge was to craft an interface that was both immersive and functional — where aesthetic rebellion met seamless user flow. The experience had to capture the raw edge of the brand while remaining intuitive across devices.
Process
We kicked off by decoding the visual language of techwear and underground street fashion — blending cues from cyberpunk, modular gear, and digital interfaces. User research focused on trend-aware Gen Z and Millennial shoppers who expect high aesthetic value and fluid mobile experiences. We analyzed how leading experimental brands balance storytelling, motion, and commerce. Our strategy leaned into contrast — brutalist layouts softened by fluid interactions, dark UI with neon accents, and unexpected micro-animations. We designed a flexible component system that supported both storytelling and shopping: drop-based launches, embedded videos, and real-time availability cues. Navigation was reimagined to feel like part of the experience, not an overlay on top of it — with gesture-like interactions and kinetic scroll behavior. Everything was built to support frequent drops and visual evolution, giving Orrin Arc the freedom to refresh its look without losing structural integrity.
Solution
The final design became an extension of Orrin Arc’s philosophy — controlled chaos, modularity, and digital rebellion. We built a full-screen, motion-first interface with ambient loops, glitch-inspired transitions, and layered grids that evolve as users scroll. Product drops were treated like interactive exhibitions, each with its own microsite structure — complete with cinematic scroll effects, behind-the-scenes footage, and sound-reactive elements for immersive storytelling.
The checkout flow was stripped down to essentials, ensuring speed and clarity, while the rest of the experience leaned into bold experimentation. Fonts were custom-coded to flicker subtly on hover, and animated product tiles responded to cursor velocity, mimicking Orrin Arc’s kinetic brand DNA.
The result? A non-linear e-commerce platform that feels alive — resonating with a generation that shops for style and self-expression in the same breath.
